New Mexico – A Conspiracy Theorists Dream

Send to Kindle

Flag_of_New_Mexico.svgFor those that believe in the hard to believe, New Mexico is the epicenter for all that is considered anomalous as well as the heart of many cover-ups, black budget programs and conspiracies. For anyone with even a passing interest in the paranormal, UFO’s or clandestine government programs, many of the places you’ve undoubtedly heard and read about reside within its borders.

With many strange locations, government installations and things that just don’t quite add up, New Mexico is geographically located in the perfect place in regards to unusual happenings and overt cover-ups. Tucked away in the SE section of the Four Corners region, it’s just out-of-the-way enough (and sparsely populated enough) to fly under the radar. Ranked 36th in population size with just over 2 million people, and nicknamed the Land of Enchantment, New Mexico is the perfect storm.

The majority of the population resides in Albuquerque and Santa Fe with the rest scattered throughout the state with many locations having just a handful of people and lots of open space. Throw in some government installations with questionable motives and possibly the most famous little city in the entire United States and legends are born.

White Sands Missile Range  (Area 29)

white sands

According to some, staffers at the White Sands public affairs office know the truth of what happened at Roswell 66 years ago but few people listen. Home to the V-2 rocket program immediately after World War II, today it serves as ground support for the Tracking and Data Relay Satellite (TDRS) network of communications satellites, a solar dynamics observatory as well as missile testing and range recovery operations. [1]

White Sands Missile Range is located in Las Cruces, New Mexico. While the facility is not a secret (like Area 51), some believe that there is an underground facility located here at Area 29 known as the Oscura Peak Facility. As soon as you mention secret underground facilities the assumptions as to what goes on down there begins.

Is there an underground facility at White Sands? Honestly we will probably never know. It is however just one more piece of the strange puzzle that is New Mexico. One thing that is known about White Sands Missile Range is that is was basically ground zero for the space program.

los alamosLos Alamos National Laboratory

According to their website, the lab is simply a place to study biochemistry, climate change, biofuels, support nuclear deterrence, reduce global threats from terrorists and cyber security threats and foster energy security. To others, its purpose is for something else entirely.

Mostly known for losing sensitive national security information either by stupidity or espionage, there is one event that causes questions to be raised. Many people have heard of Bob Lazar, the individual who is a self-proclaimed whistleblower in regards to US government knowledge of (and interaction with) extraterrestrials and their technology. Bob Lazar claims to have worked at both Area 51 as well as Los Alamos. Los Alamos however denied claims that he was ever an employee until he produced a W-2 showing that in fact he had worked there. Apparently they weren’t counting on that.

Once he proved he had worked there, Los Alamos backtracked and said well yes he did work there but in a very limited capacity and only on non-sensitive projects. And that’s pretty much all you need to form the basis of a cover-up in regards to what actually takes place at a government facility.

So what did happen near a small town in the New Mexico desert during the summer of 1947? Enough to spawn its own television series and still be considered relevant 66 years later. I won’t bore you with the details as I’m sure most of you could recite them in your sleep.

I personally believe the eye witnesses and relatives of these individuals in regards to what happened. If you study the case, the counter-arguments and reasons given by the government are at times laughable. But that’s neither here nor there.

Although the site of the crash is nearly 75 miles from Roswell and closer to the City of Corona, New Mexico, the debris was handled by the RAAF (Roswell Army Air Field) thus giving Roswell the distinction of becoming the most infamous little city in the United States.

Fun Fact: Both Demi Moore and John Denver were born in Roswell.

DulceDulce Base

The site of an alleged secret alien underground facility under Archuleta Mesa on the Colorado-New Mexico border near the town of Dulce, New Mexico.

Starting in 1979, Paul Bennewitz became convinced he was intercepting electronic communications from alien spacecraft and installations outside of Albuquerque. By the 1980s he believed he had discovered an underground base near Dulce. The story spread rapidly within the UFO community and by 1990, UFOlogist John Lear claimed he had independent confirmations of the base’s existence. Political scientist Michael Barkun writes that Cold War underground missile installations in the area gave superficial plausibility to the rumors, making the Dulce base story an “attractive legend” within UFOlogy. According to Barkun, claims about experiments on abductees and firefights between aliens and the Delta Force place the Dulce legend “well outside even the most far-fetched reports of secret underground bases.” [2]

Another secret underground facility in the New Mexico desert. The problem with these is once you make the claim, proving it is next to impossible. One thing that is known is that Dulce residents themselves report seeing very unusual things on a pretty consistent basis.

Holloman Air Force Baseholloman

Said to be the site of genuine footage taken of a UFO landing in 1971. [3]

Also said to be the site where President Eisenhower made a secret visit to experience UFO’s firsthand.

According to reports:

On February 9, 1955, President Eisenhower announced to the press that he was going to Georgia for a few days. He left on February 10th at 1:00 p.m. from Andrews AFB with a party of six. A chartered planeload of journalists from all major networks accompanied him. The planeload of press was with Ike because of international tensions. The Russians  were having a major leadership upheaval and the Red Chinese were making  moves towards Formosa. Ike and party arrived at his destination, Thomasville, Georgia, about 4:30 p.m. on February 10th, hunted quail for an hour, and retired to his guest cottage. Less than 24 hours later, President Eisenhower  showed up at Holloman AFB. Ike was out of the press view for some 36 hours. James Hagerty, his press secretary, told the press that Ike and his valet were “treating a case of the sniffles.”

The source of Ike’s visit to Holloman comes from an ex-airman stationed at the base hospital. The airman wrote a seven-page letter to UFO investigator/ speaker Art Campbell, delineating the details of Ike’s visit and some of the activities while there. The Columbine III, Ike’s Air Force One at the time, landed at Holloman around 9:00 a.m. on Feb. 11th. By previous arrangement, the plane taxied and parked on an active runway. A short time later a UFO was seen to land in front of Air Force One. A man presumed to be Ike left the parked plane and walked to the UFO. A meeting of some 45 minutes took place and then he returned to the plane. Another UFO was seen hovering over the flight line while the meeting was going on.

The details are sketchy, but Ike was at the base until 4:30 or 5:00 p.m. when his plane left. Hundreds saw it. Ike and the base commander spoke to several hundred military and civilian workers on the base and at a hangar and in the base theater. The airman listed the names of eight witnesses to this event. Other witnesses are being sought by investigator Art Campbell. [4]

 haarpHAARP 2.0

Are miniaturized versions of the world’s largest ionospheric heater (HAARP) all around us modifying the weather? Have electromagnetic frequency generators been installed over major fault lines waiting to trigger massive earthquakes? Has our military developed a super weapon that can vaporize entire cities with lightning from the ionosphere? There is evidence that technology exists and is being deployed. [5]

A mysterious government outpost stands in the icy barrens of Alaska, its 72-foot antennae tearing into the sky above. Armed guards patrol relentlessly around the secure perimeter of one of the more mysterious and fascinating research facilities in the government’s arsenal.

This is HAARP —the High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program—and its mission is, as some believe, no less than governmental control over the earth’s weather and its tectonic plates. However, the U.S. government says the facility is used for standard scientific research, one of many that is exploring the outer realms of technology. [6]

There are many reports that HAARP is (or has) expanding to New Mexico. If your goal is weather modification then Alaska and the high desert of New Mexico would be my obvious choices and I don’t know the first thing about the technology.

So what’s really going on in New Mexico? Could it be the location of secret underground bases, UFO facilities and black budget programs? Have alien’s crash-landed here as well as stopped by to chat with a President? We may never know, but one thing is for certain, New Mexico is a very interesting place.

Fun Fact: On April 29, 2007, former Apollo astronaut Gordon Cooper’s ashes (along with those of Star Trek actor James Doohan and 206 others) were launched from New Mexico on a sub-orbital memorial flight by a privately owned UP Aerospace SpaceLoft XL sounding rocket. Although the capsule carrying the ashes fell back toward Earth as planned, it was lost in mountainous landscape. The search was thwarted by bad weather but after a few weeks the capsule was found and the ashes it carried were returned to the families. The ashes were then launched on the Explorers orbital mission (August 3, 2008) but were lost when the Falcon 1 rocket failed two minutes into the flight.
